Acquire a Skill

Once you've found the right Skill and verified its details, you can easily acquire it on the FinChip platform. Here's how to do it:

1. Connect Your Wallet

  • ›FinChip operates on the blockchain, so you'll need a wallet to interact with the platform. Connect your preferred wallet (e.g., MetaMask) to start acquiring Skills.
  • ›Ensure you have enough funds in your wallet to cover the Skill's price and any associated gas fees.

2. Choose a Skill

  • ›Navigate to the Skill page in the marketplace and click on the one you'd like to acquire.
  • ›Review all the details once again, including the price and usage terms.

3. Review Price and Terms

  • ›Confirm that you are comfortable with the price and the Skill's terms of use.
  • ›For Skills that are limited in supply (e.g., ERC-721 fork-based Skills), be aware of the availability and how many copies remain.

4. Confirm the Purchase

  • ›After reviewing the terms, you will be prompted to confirm the purchase.
  • ›Once you approve the transaction, the Skill Token will be transferred to your wallet.

5. Receive Your Skill Token

  • ›After the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, the Skill Token will be added to your wallet.
  • ›You will now have access to the Skill based on the terms set by the creator (e.g., number of uses, duration of access).

How to Use a Skill

After acquiring a Skill, you can start using it right away. The process will depend on the type of Skill you've acquired:

1. Access Your Library

  • ›All the Skills you've acquired will be listed in your Library on the FinChip platform. Here, you can manage and view your owned Skills.
  • ›You can search, sort, and filter your Skills to find what you need quickly.

2. Decrypt and Access Content

  • ›If the Skill content is encrypted, you will need to sign a message with your wallet to verify your ownership. This ensures that only authorized users can access the Skill.
  • ›Once verified, the content of the Skill will be decrypted and available for use.
  • ›Depending on the Skill, you may be able to download files, use an API, or integrate the Skill into your workflow.

3. Use the Skill

  • ›After decryption, you can begin using the Skill in the way it was intended. For example, you may run a trading algorithm, apply a data analysis model, or use a legal compliance checker.

4. Get Support

  • ›If the Skill provides additional support (such as tutorials, documentation, or customer service), check the Skill page for any resources that may assist you in using it.

What Happens After You Buy?

Once you've purchased a Skill and completed the acquisition process, here's what you can expect:

1. Access Rights

  • ›The Skill Token you own represents your access rights. Depending on the creator's terms, you may have a lifetime license, a time-limited license, or a limited number of uses.

2. Ownership

  • ›You are now the owner of the Skill Token, and the rights associated with it are transferred to your wallet. If the Skill is tradable, you can resell it or transfer it to someone else.

3. Using the Skill

  • ›As the owner of the Skill, you can use it as long as it fits within the access rules set by the creator. For example, you can use the Skill within a workflow, or interact with it via API calls if it is a data tool or algorithm.

4. Resell or Transfer

  • ›If the Skill is a non-exclusive version or a fork NFT, you can resell it or transfer ownership through the secondary market. This allows you to monetize your access to Skills that may no longer be needed or that you no longer use.
