FinChip Points
Points and Invite Codes
FinChip uses a tiered invite system to onboard early users during the closed beta.
Each tier carries different starting allocations, point multipliers, and the ability to invite others. This page explains how the tiers fit together, what each invite code is for, and how points are earned.
In simple terms:
Higher tiers receive more starting points and can issue invite codes to the tier below. Everyone earns additional points through referrals. Points are recorded against your linked Web2 and Web3 identities and will be tied to future FinChip tokens and ecosystem rewards.
The Closed Beta Period
The invite and points system runs during a 14-21 day closed beta. During this window, point rewards are active, multipliers are applied, and invite codes are distributed in limited quantities. The structure may evolve before public launch.
1. The Four User Tiers
FinChip has four user tiers. The top three, Genesis, OG, and Senior, form the early contributor cohort and share a common Founder Badge. Each tier above Regular can invite users into the tier directly below it.
2. Genesis Users
- ›What it is: The founding tier, issued to FinChip's earliest contributors and partners.
- ›How it works: Genesis Users receive the highest starting allocation and a fixed batch of GEN Codes, each of which can be used to invite one OG User.
- ›Rewards: 20,000 starting points, 10 GEN Codes shown in the dashboard as
GEN Codes, and a 2x points boost on all subsequent earnings. - ›Why it matters: Genesis Users seed the network. Their GEN Codes determine who enters the OG tier, and their point boost recognizes their role in the earliest phase of the project.
3. OG Users
- ›What it is: The second tier, invited by Genesis Users.
- ›How it works: Each OG User joins through a GEN Code. They receive their own starting allocation and can mint Senior Invite Codes at a controlled cadence.
- ›Rewards: 8,000 starting points, doubled points during the closed beta period, and the ability to mint one Senior Invite Code every 8 hours.
- ›Why it matters: The 8-hour cadence keeps OG distribution intentional rather than viral. It gives OG Users a meaningful role in selecting who joins next without flooding the network.
4. Senior Users
- ›What it is: The third tier of the founder cohort, invited by OG Users.
- ›How it works: Senior Users receive a starting allocation, a points multiplier, and the ability to issue Regular Invite Codes to onboard general users.
- ›Rewards: 1,000 starting points, a 1.3x points boost on all earnings, and the ability to mint Regular Invite Codes with no rate limit.
- ›Why it matters: Senior Users are the bridge between the founder cohort and the wider community. They expand the network through Regular Codes while still carrying founder-tier privileges.
5. Regular Users
- ›What it is: The general user tier. Anyone joining FinChip outside the founder cohort starts here.
- ›How it works: A Regular User joins through a Regular Code in the format
FC-XXXXXXXXXX. They can earn points, refer others, and participate in the wider ecosystem. - ›Rewards: Earned entirely through participation and referrals.
6. The Two Code Types
FinChip uses two invite code formats. Which one you see in your dashboard depends on your tier.
- ›GEN Codes: Held by Genesis Users only. Each Genesis User receives an allocation, displayed for example as
GEN Codes 1/20. GEN Codes invite OG Users. OG Users then mint Senior Codes through their dashboard at a rate of one every 8 hours. - ›Regular Codes: Held by everyone. The format is
FC-XXXXXXXXXX. Every user, regardless of tier, has a Regular Code and QR they can share to refer new general users.
In the User Info & Points Calculator page, both code types appear in the lower card. Switch between them using the tabs.
7. Earning Points Through Referrals
Every user has a Regular Code and a QR. Referral rewards apply across all tiers:
- ›+100 points when someone joins using your Regular Code as a direct referral.
- ›+10 points when someone your referral invited brings in a new user as an indirect referral.
Tier multipliers stack on referral earnings. A Genesis User with the 2x boost earns 200 points per direct referral; a Senior User with the 1.3x boost earns 130.
8. How to Check Your Status
- Open the User Info & Points Calculator page.
- The Identity card shows your tier, point multiplier, linked Web3 wallet, and linked Web2 GitHub account. Link both to unify your points across Web2 and Web3.
- The Total Points card shows your running point total and the month you joined.
- The lower card shows your invite codes. Use the Copy link button or share the QR.
- The Referred and PTS Earned counters update as your invites onboard.
9. What Points Are For
Points earned during the beta are recorded against your linked wallet and GitHub identity. Once both are linked, your point total is unified across Web2 and Web3 sources.
Points will be linked to future FinChip tokens and ecosystem rewards. Specifics will be announced before public launch.
FAQ
1. I am a Genesis User but I see GEN Codes 1/20, not 10. Why?
- ›The 2x points boost applies to your code allocation as well. Ten GEN Codes are doubled to twenty.
2. Can I transfer or sell my invite codes?
- ›Invite codes are tied to your account and are not transferable. Each code can be used once.
3. What happens if I do not link both my wallet and GitHub?
- ›Your points are still recorded, but they will only count against the identity you used to log in. To unify your point total, link both identities under the Identity card.
4. Does the 8-hour OG cooldown stack?
- ›No. OG Users always have at most one pending Senior Code available to send. Once you mint a code, the 8-hour timer resets.
5. What if I join late in the beta?
- ›Yes. Regular Codes have no expiry within the beta period, and points continue to accrue. The earliest tiers, Genesis, OG, and Senior, are closed once their allocations are distributed.
